The Glee Club Rings in the Holidays at Annual Christmas Carol Concert
The 83rd annual Spelman-Morehouse Christmas Carol concert slated for December 4-6 will kickoff the Christmas season for metro-Atlanta residents with a delightful mixture of new selections and traditional favorites. The concert is free and open to the public, however a complimentary ticket will be required for entrance to the Saturday, December 5, concert at Spelman. Get your ticket for the Saturday show.

SpelBots Take Over U.S. Senate
The Spelman robotics team, headed by Andrew Williams, Ph.D., associate professor of computer and information sciences, showed off their two-legged humanoid robots recently in Washington, D.C. One of only 21 institutions and the only HBCU selected to attend the National Science Foundation's Education Technology Showcase on Capitol Hill, Spelman students quickly grabbed the attention of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other members of Congress.

Student Spotlight

Taylor Yarborough, C'2013, was one of 100 young adults honored by the Tavis Smiley Foundation for being an example of positive youth engagement, volunteerism, community service and leadership. The Louisiana native whose family lost everything when Hurricane Katrina struck, recently received a $5,000 scholarship that will help her continue her studies at Spelman. As a pre-med/biology major, she is considering a career in sports medicine, and is currently a trainer for the Morehouse College football team.
